Sculpture allows me to explore a liminal state of mind where I am lost in the act of making. I welcome a confusion between what is real and what is imagined; what is physical and what is felt, or sensed. Making sculpture activates a relationship with everything and everyone- it is nature. I want materials to transform into ideas and into feelings. With every piece I want to transform, too. The work is in a constant state of questioning and becoming, as am I. My hope is to integrate the body, the sensual imagination, and nature into a discussion of the relative place of ourselves in culture and in the environment at large.
