Sculpture allows me to explore a liminal state of mind where I am lost in the act of making. I welcome a confusion between what is real and what is imagined; what is physical and what is felt, or sensed. Making sculpture activates my relationship with everything and everyone- it is nature. I want materials to transform into the intangibles of my experience. With every piece I want to transform, too.

Essential to my work is acknowledging our imagination as part of our resources and part of our nature. My sculptures are premised on the perception that nature is the imagination; that nature is our selves; and that nature is our surroundings however urban, deserted, bucolic, or wild they may be.
